Don’t have a green thumb? Not to worry! Sprouting your own Broccoli sprouts is super easy, and no dirt is needed! Broccoli sprouts are SUPER healthy and can be added to salads or smoothies! Broccoli sprouts are rich in a range of nutrients, including vitamin C, vitamin A, fiber, and sulforaphane. Broccoli sprouts contain very high levels of sulforaphane, a nutrient that possesses anti-cancer and anti-inflammatory properties.
They are super easy to grown at home, and you can easily freeze them! To get started you will need to purchase broccoli seeds from your local health food store. Sprouts are made from the seeds not from a regular head of broccoli.

Adele recently sprouted her own Broccoli sprouts, here is what she did:

What you need:
– Broccoli seeds
– Mason jar
– Mason jar ‘mesh’ lid

Steps:
– In clean and dry mason jar, add in 2 tablespoons of Broccoli seeds
– Fill mason jar with water
– Secure mesh lid
– Let soak for a minimum of 8 hours (great to do before you head to bed)
– The next day, dump out the water (through he mesh lid), this will prevent your seeds from spilling out, keeping them in the jar.
– You will need to rinse and drain your sprouts at least 3 times per day; fill up the jar, swish around the water and drain out through the mesh lid.
– By the 4th or 5th day, your sprouts will be long enough to “harvest”

You can add your sprouts to salads or smoothies! You can also freeze your sprouts, making it super easy to grab when you need them.
