The days are getting hotter & it’s not always easy to keep your body cool if you don’t have air conditioning. The hot temperatures can add stress to the day & many restless hot summer nights. Here are some helpful tips to help keep you cool on a budget!

Drink A LOT of water

It is important to stay hydrated during a heat wave.  Purchase a reusable insulated water bottle to keep on hand throughout the day!

Take a cold shower

A cold shower can instantly help cool you down.

Homemade popsicles!

It’s a cheap sweet treat! Buy popsicle molds at your local dollar store.

Keep a frozen face cloth in the freezer

Have a cold compress ready to go! Put a damp face cloth in the freezer.

Have a fan handy

Set it up by a window to make a nice cross breeze!

Keep your blinds & curtains closed

Try not to let sunlight into the room. This will help keep the room cool.

Switch out heavy sheets or blankets
